Two Israel Defense Forces soldiers killed and 11 injured

Two IDF soldiers were killed during the foiled attack in the central Gaza Strip, as part of operation Protective Edge, a spokesman said. The soldiers are Sergeant Adar Bersano, 20, from Neharyia, and Major (res.) Amotz Greenberg, 45, from Hod Hasharon. Adar Bersano was posthumously promoted to the rank of a sergeant.

The soldiers' families have been notified. An IDF soldier who was severely injured was hit by a sniper, not by a discharge, and his condition has now improved, the official added. Some 11 IDF officers have been injured since yesterday evening.
