The father of a woman killed by her violent ex-partner has said a stalkers register should be introduced with the "same importance as the sex offenders register."
John Clough, whose daughter Jane was stabbed 71 times by predator Jonathan Vass, said: "If a stalkers register could be given the same importance as the sex offenders register it would have a significant impact.
"Stalking is an act of terrorism against the victim. The people who are carrying out these offences statistically are serial perpetrators."

Among those murdered was Keith Palmer, an unarmed constable who "did his job and never wanted any fuss."
