UN school in Gaza hit by shelling for second time

A United Nations school sheltering people who have fled Israeli airstrikes in Gaza has been hit by shelling from Israeli shelling, the UN said.

Fighting has now been raging for 16 days and has left more than 650 dead.

UN: 'Gaza is open wound and we must stop the bleeding'

UN General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon has said Gaza is an "open wound and we must stop the bleeding now."

His comments came after the bloodiest day of battle in Israel with at least 87 people killed. The death toll now stands as more than 420.
