Australia's foreign minister has called for the "immediate" cessation of "contamination" of the Malaysian airliner crash site, as separatists come under pressure to allow independent monitors on the scene. Julie Bishop said in a statement:
This is not a time to use bodies as hostages or pawns in the Ukrainian-Russian conflict. It is time for these bodies to be brought home and it’s time for an investigation into who is responsible for this atrocity to begin.
Thousands of online users have taken to social media to call for the victims of the Malaysian airliner crash to be returned to loved ones.
United States intelligence officials admitted that they do not know who fired the surface-to-air missile that downed flight MH17.
