UN school in Gaza hit by shelling for second time

A United Nations school sheltering people who have fled Israeli airstrikes in Gaza has been hit by shelling from Israeli shelling, the UN said.

Fighting has now been raging for 16 days and has left more than 650 dead.

Palestinian death toll from offensive 'rises to 508'

The Palestinian death toll from the two-week Israeli offensive has risen to 508, a Gaza health ministry official has said.

Ashraf al-Kidra said rescue workers were searching a family home that was "flattened" by Israeli air strikes overnight.

At least 20 people were killed at the site near Khan Younis, where two people were pulled alive from the rubble, al-Kidra added.

Israel said 18 of its soldiers have also died along with two Israeli civilians.
