Russia has backed a resolution calling for a probe into the causes of the MH17 air disaster.
The UN Security Council voted in favour of a resolution for an international investigation into the circumstances behind downing of the plane and called on rebels to ensure safe and unrestricted access to the site in eastern Ukraine.
The 15-member council unanimously adopted a resolution drafted by Australia, which lost 28 citizens in the crash, demanding those responsible "be held to account and that all states cooperate fully with efforts to establish accountability."
