A Ukrainian separatist leader handed over black boxes from flight MH17 to Malaysia officials in Donetsk.
Alexander Borodai, prime minister of self-proclaimed People's Republic of Donetsk said they were "being returned to their owners." Malaysian investigator Colonel Mohamad Sakri said the black boxes were a "little bit damaged" but overall in good condition.
Colonel Sakri said: "Our priority now - first is the body, second is the black box and third is the crash."
Thousands of online users have taken to social media to call for the victims of the Malaysian airliner crash to be returned to loved ones.
United States intelligence officials admitted that they do not know who fired the surface-to-air missile that downed flight MH17.
