Mostly dry and sunny, cloudy in north and east

Any early mist and low cloud across central and eastern England and Scotland will lift and break up to give most places a dry day with warm sunny periods.

However, it will stay largely cloudy in parts of East Anglia and the north east of Scotland, with mist and fog near the coast. Outbreaks of rain will spread in to Northern Ireland and the Western Isles this afternoon.

Very warm where the sun shines with highs of 29C in Southampton. Much cooler under the cloudy skies of East Anglia with highs of 18C to 22C in Norfolk.
