A stolen rabbit posted through a letterbox in a "silly prank" has been returned to its owner.
The white rabbit was found on top of a stack of letters and cards by a postman on Saturday morning in Maltby, south Yorkshire.
The pet's owners were eventually identified by the RSPCA, only after the charity received numerous offers to re-home the animal.
The RSPCA, who have launched an investigation into the incident, said the rabbit had been taken from its hutch.
"Clearly this was a silly prank that could have resulted in the rabbit being seriously hurt," a spokesperson for the animal charity said.
