Up to 8 million tune in as Commonwealth Games closes

The curtain has come down on an incredible 11 days of Commonwealth Games sporting action in a glittering, star-filled closing ceremony at Glasgow's Hampden Park.

England has topped the medal table of the Commonwealth Games with a total of 174 medals.

Up to 8 million viewers tuned in to see Kylie and a host of other stars close Glasgow 2014, which has been dubbed the "best ever" Commonwealth Games.

Australia leading medal table after marathon win

Australia are leading the Commonwealth Games medals tables, with Michael Shelley adding a surprise marathon gold to their haul.

England are second in the table but their chances of a rugby medal in the men's 7s were snuffed out after a 15-14 quarter final defeat to Western Samoa.

Wales also exited the competition after a tight 21-19 defeat at the hands of Australia.
