Truce over after Hamas continues 'incessant rocket fire'

Fighting has reportedly resumed in Gaza after Israel said Hamas militants broke a humanitarian ceasefire.

The ceasefire was supposed to last until midnight tonight, but an Israeli military spokesman said Hamas had engaged in "incessant rocket fire throughout the humanitarian window".

The spokesman added that the Israeli army would "now resume its aerial, naval and ground activity in the Gaza Strip".

Residents in Gaza reported hearing heavy shelling east of Gaza City shortly after the announcement was made.
