A former music teacher at a prestigious school in Manchester has been charged with rape.
Malcolm Layfield, who taught at Chetham's School of Music, is accused of one count of rape on an 18-year-old woman in 1992.
The 62-year-old has also previously taught at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM).
The alleged victim is believed to be a former pupil at one of the music schools.
Layfield has been charged following an ongoing investigation, titled Operation Kiso, into historic sexual abuse at Chetham's and RNCM.
