Three top Hamas commanders killed in Israeli strike

Three senior Hamas military commanders have been killed in Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip, the Islamist militant group said.

Hamas named the men as Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum and said they were killed in a bombing of a house in the southern town of Rafah.

Israel calls up 16,000 reservists as conflict continues

Israel has called up around 16,000 extra reservists as the Gaza conflict continues, a military source told Reuters.

The move has been made to relieve a similar number of reservists who would now be stood down, the official said.

Around 86,000 reservists have now reportedly been called up by Israel.
