Cadbury family home destroyed in arson attack

A house which was once home to a member of the Cadbury chocolate dynasty in Birmingham has been destroyed in an arson attack.

More than 90 firefighters were drafted in to tackle the blaze at the six-storey derelict manor house, which police say started around 8.30pm yesterday.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said no-one was injured in the fire at the empty property, which is believed to have been owned by the Cadbury family between 1890 and 1953.
