English long jumper Greg Rutherford, who was hailed a "true champion" after claiming gold in the Commonwealth Games yesterday, says his victory was a "great feeling" and a "huge relief".
Rutherford, who overcame career-threatening injury problems after his Olympic glory two years ago, said: "For me to go out there and it all to go well again is a great feeling."
"The initial response for me was relief more than anything else."
"I was very, very lucky, the crowd got entirely behind us. Even the Scottish fans were getting completely behind us. It's nice to interact and share the experience with those guys." he added.
Pop princess Kylie stole the show as she closed what has been dubbed the 'best ever' Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The Jamaican sprinter said the only negative at the Commonwealth Games was the weather, as he hailed the "brilliant" event in Glasgow.
Pop princess Kylie will be top of the bill tonight as the Commonwealth Games comes to a close.
