The head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency has expressed his "shock and outrage" over the shelling of school which he says amounts to a "serious violation of international law".
Commissioner-General Pierre Krähenbühl said that 220,000 displaced people remain in schools across Gaza. He added that if the current conflict continues the Israeli army will have to "take over" from the UN in managing those displaced people.
