Three top Hamas commanders killed in Israeli strike

Three senior Hamas military commanders have been killed in Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip, the Islamist militant group said.

Hamas named the men as Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum and said they were killed in a bombing of a house in the southern town of Rafah.

Britain pledges further £3 million to Gaza aid workers

Britain has pledged a further £3 million to help workers in Gaza provide a rapid response to the crisis.

International Development Secretary Justine Greening called the three-week offensive "nothing short of a humanitarian catastrophe".

The funding brings the total UK humanitarian support during the current conflict to £13 million.
