Three top Hamas commanders killed in Israeli strike

Three senior Hamas military commanders have been killed in Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip, the Islamist militant group said.

Hamas named the men as Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum and said they were killed in a bombing of a house in the southern town of Rafah.

'We are left with no choice' but to stop attacks on Israel

Israel explored all options "loudly and quietly" before entering into the Gaza conflict after it was "left with no choice" but to attack, according to a spokesman for the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Spokesperson Paul Hirschson admitted to Good Morning Britain there were civilians killed in the "vicinity" of a UN school in Gaza denied Israel had sought to attack the facility.
