Three top Hamas commanders killed in Israeli strike

Three senior Hamas military commanders have been killed in Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip, the Islamist militant group said.

Hamas named the men as Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum and said they were killed in a bombing of a house in the southern town of Rafah.

Red Cross chief: I have never seen such destruction

The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross said he had "never seen such massive destruction" during his visit to Shejaia in the Gaza strip today.

Peter Maurer added that victims must be put "at the centre of our concern" and said the Red Cross' strategy would be to "engage with weapons bearers so they know and apply" international humanitarian law.
