Some 72% of Conservative MPs are planning a week or two in another country, compared to 63% of Labour MPs and 47% of Liberal Democrat MPs.

More Liberal Democrat MPs than any other party were planning to holiday in the UK, the survey carried out for travel organisation Abta found.

The three party leaders have each made public that they are planning a holiday abroad this summer, with Prime Minister David Cameron spending his main holiday in Portugal, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg visiting family in Spain, and Labour leader Ed Miliband enjoying a holiday in the French countryside.
