Three top Hamas commanders killed in Israeli strike

Three senior Hamas military commanders have been killed in Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip, the Islamist militant group said.

Hamas named the men as Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum and said they were killed in a bombing of a house in the southern town of Rafah.

Israel conditionally agrees to extend Gaza ceasefire

Israel has conditionally agreed to extend a ceasefire that ended a month of fighting in Gaza beyond a Friday deadline, Israeli officials said.

Speaking anonymously, the official did not say for how much longer Israel had agreed to extend the truce only that: "Israel has expressed its readiness to extend the truce under its current terms."

Hamas had no immediate comment.
