Man flown to hospital after snake attack

A man has been seriously hurt after being attacked by an adder in north Yorkshire.

The snake bit the Doncaster man three times in the Dalby forest.

The 44-year-old was treated on the scene by a rapid-response paramedic and an off-duty paramedic, according The Great North Air Ambulance Service. A trauma team led by a doctor then arrived.

After they managed to stabilise the man he was flown to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

The man is in a serious but stable condition.
