Three top Hamas commanders killed in Israeli strike

Three senior Hamas military commanders have been killed in Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip, the Islamist militant group said.

Hamas named the men as Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum and said they were killed in a bombing of a house in the southern town of Rafah.

Rocket fire resumes at end of Gaza ceasefire

Militants have resumed firing rockets into Israel from Gaza after a three-day ceasefire expired.

The Israeli military said five rockets had been fired at Israel from Gaza, and the iron dome intercepted one of the rockets above Ashkelon just minutes after the truce ended.

Reports suggest Hamas has rejected an extension of the ceasefire after Israel failed to meet its demands.
