More than £4.5 million has been raised to help people affected by the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) says.

The UK government contributed £2 million of the total, which will be used to supply victims with clean water, food, shelter and medical supplies.

Seven Palestinians were killed today after dozens of air attacks on the region, while militants continued to fire rockets into Israel despite international efforts to revive a ceasefire.
