Report: 40 passengers die in Iran plane crash

All of the 40 passengers including seven children aboard a plane that crashed in the Iranian capital Tehran have died, according to the country's official news agency IRNA.

The news service said that the engine on the aircraft reportedly shut down shortly after taking off from International Mehrabad Airport at 9:45 am local time (6:15 UK time).

The plane was reportedly heading to the eastern city of Tabas in South Khorassan province.
