Three top Hamas commanders killed in Israeli strike

Three senior Hamas military commanders have been killed in Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip, the Islamist militant group said.

Hamas named the men as Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum and said they were killed in a bombing of a house in the southern town of Rafah.

War crimes inquiry into Israel-Gaza conflict

The United Nations has created a commission to look into possible war crimes on either side of the conflict in Israel and Gaza.

There is, however, disagreement over the appointment of the head of the commission.

Hamas says it welcomes William Schabas, a Canadian professor of international law, to lead the inquiry, which Israel's foreign ministry claims the process will have anti-Israel bias.
