Canada to produce 'tens of thousands' of Ebola vaccines

Canada is set to produce tens of thousands of doses of potentially life saving Ebola vaccines within the next two months.

Dr Charles Link, chief executive of NewLink Genetics Corp, which is licensed to develop the vaccine, said it already had enough doses to launch the first human safety trial of the drug this summer.

He added: "We want this to move quickly. Before I would have said it would take eight to 10 months before we could launch human studies, but now it's a matter of weeks."

So far over 1,000 have died from Ebola in West Africa- 56 of those in the past two days.
