A-levels: More high grades but overall pass rate falls

More A-levels pupils were handed the very highest grade this summer, but the overall pass rate fell for the first time in more than 30 years, official figures show.

In total, just over one in four of exams were awarded an A* or A grade, down 0.3 percentage points on last summer.

Labour 'wrong' to propose undoing A-level reforms

It would be "wrong" for Labour to undo the coalition's A-level reforms, the Education Secretary told Good Morning Britain.

Nicky Morgan MP, speaking on A-level results day, said: "schools and colleges are already preparing for these changes and so we should let them get on with that.

"It's wrong to put those changes at further risk and to create further uncertainty."
