Londoner charged with trying to assist terrorism

A 33-year-old man has been charged with trying to assist terrorism.

Scotland Yard said Asim Ali, of west London, is to appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

It is claimed he had been linked to Imran Khawaja, 26, and others to commit acts of terrorism.

Khawaja has been charged with terrorism offences including allegedly attending a terror training camp in Syria.

It is alleged Ali gave Khawaja £300 cash from his bank account before his departure from the UK and provided advice on establishing communications using apps.
