Three top Hamas commanders killed in Israeli strike

Three senior Hamas military commanders have been killed in Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip, the Islamist militant group said.

Hamas named the men as Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum and said they were killed in a bombing of a house in the southern town of Rafah.

Israel faces 'a long war' unless demands are met

Israel will face "a long war" unless the aspirations of the Palestinian people are met, according to Hamas' head of foreign affairs.

Osama Hamdan said on his official Facebook page that offers made to the Palestinian delegation in Cairo where negotiations for a truce with Israel are being brokered do not meet the aspirations of the people.

He wrote: "Israel must accept the demands of the Palestinian people or face a long war."
