A two-year-old girl and a woman were killed by an Israeli air strike after the breakdown of the latest truce with Hamas, Palestinian health officials said.
Officials said Israel launched 35 air attacks including the one on the house in Gaza city which killed the woman and child, who officials initially said was five.
Israel said it ordered retaliatory raids when militants violated a truce by firing rockets at Israel. The ceasefire had been set to expire at 10pm UK time.
