Ebola outbreak could infect '1.4 million' by January

The worst Ebola outbreak on record is now projected to infect up to 1.4 million by January 2015, according to scientists and studying the deadly virus.

The death toll from the Ebola outbreak in West Africa has risen to at least 3,091 out of a total 6,574 cases, the World Health Organisation has said.

US aid worker discharged after recovering from Ebola

US aid worker Nancy Writebol has been discharged from Emory University Hospital after recovering from Ebola, health chiefs have said.

The 59-year-old had contracted the disease while working as a missionary in the West African country of Liberia during the recent outbreak of the deadly virus.
