'Pensioner' tries to hold-up bank in Norfolk

Police are looking for a man who tried to hold up a bank in an affluent area of Norfolk yesterday afternoon, in what was described as an "unusual incident".

The suspect, who Norfolk Police believes could be in his 60s or 70s, threatened staff at a branch of TSB in Holt with what appeared to be a firearm.

The cashier refused to give the man any money and he left empty-handed.

Detective Inspector Graeme Talbot said: "No staff member was hurt but they were obviously surprised and upset by what happened.

"This was an unusual and isolated incident which was over very quickly but it is important we identify this individual at the earliest opportunity."
