Personal data of 42,000 ambulance patients 'lost'

The personal data of tens of thousands of patients who were treated by paramedics in an emergency have gone missing, the East Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Chief executive Sue Noyes said just under 42,000 electronic copies of handwritten patient notes were lost at the ambulance service's headquarters in Beechdale, Nottingham.
