Hundreds of graphic images showing child abuse were found on the home computer of a former IT specialist working for the Cabinet Office.
Sebastian Crump, aged 39, was jailed for two years and eight months at Southwark Crown Court today after admitting three counts of making indecent images, and one count of distributing three images.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard revealed 82 of the photographs were in the most serious category.
Crump, of Swaffield Road, Wandsworth, London, created the images while working as a digital communications manager on the government's official website.
He was arrested on January 30 after an investigation by detectives from the sexual offences, exploitation and child abuse command's paedophile unit.
