Shaun Wright referred to IPCC after Rotherham report

Under-fire South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Shaun Wright has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

Mr Wright has resisted calls for him to resign since the publication of the Jay Report into child sexual exploitation (CSE) in Rotherham which detailed how at least 1,400 children were subjected to horrors including rape, violence and trafficking for sex between 1997 and 2013.

12 new victims of alleged child abuse come forward since Rotherham inquiry

Twelve new victims have come forward with allegations of child sexual abuse in Rotherham since the publication of the Jay Report last week, South Yorkshire chief constable David Crompton has told the House of Commons Home Affairs Committee.
