NHS to fund Ashya King's treatment in Czech Republic

The NHS is to pay for five-year-old brain tumour patient Ashya King's proton beam therapy treatment in the Czech Republic.

His parents Brett and Naghemeh King sparked an international police hunt after they took their son out of Southampton General Hospital and travelled to Prague for the treatment which was not available for him on the NHS.

CPS seeks Ashya parents' release 'as soon as possible'

The Crown Prosecution Service says it is "taking steps" to withdraw the European Arrest Warrant against the parents of five-year-old cancer patient Ashya King.

"No further action will be taken against Mr and Mrs King and we are now in the process of communicating this decision to the Spanish Authorities so that they can be reunited with their son as soon as possible," the CPS said in a statement.
