South Yorkshire chief constable David Crompton has told the House of Commons Home Affairs Committee that he may deploy "more resources" to investigate child sexual abuse in Rotherham after 12 new alleged victims came forward.
We have got a very comprehensive plan going forward, and even though we have extensive extra resources, we may be putting more resources into it given that we have got more allegations coming forward.
He said: "This is a huge wake up call. It does stem back a long way.
"We have 12 new cases brought forward... in Rotherham.
"We will go wherever the evidence takes us."
