NHS to fund Ashya King's treatment in Czech Republic

The NHS is to pay for five-year-old brain tumour patient Ashya King's proton beam therapy treatment in the Czech Republic.

His parents Brett and Naghemeh King sparked an international police hunt after they took their son out of Southampton General Hospital and travelled to Prague for the treatment which was not available for him on the NHS.

Ashya King's parents angry at police and medical staff

The parents of 5-year-old cancer patient Ashya King were finally reunited with their son in Malaga today, after being arrested for taking him out of hospital in Britain.

Speaking this morning in Seville after their release from jail, they said they were acting in their son's best interests and were angry at the actions of his doctors and police.
