Joan Rivers gets the star-studded farewell she wished for

Dozens of celebrities have paid their last respects to comedian Joan Rivers in Manhattan.

Hugh Jackman and the New York Gay Men's Chorus performed at the ceremony, which was also attended by stars including Whoopi Goldberg and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The pioneering 81-year-old died after suffering a heart attack during a routine medical procedure on Thursday.

The New York state health department is now investigating the circumstances surrounding Rivers' death.

Thousands of fans mourn Joan Rivers in New York

Thousands of fans have gathered outside the Manhattan temple where the funeral of Joan Rivers is being held today.

Celebrities including Rosie O'Donnell, Judge Judy, Kyle MacLachlan and Kelly Osbourne have arrived for the private funeral of the pioneering comedian.
