Earthquake hits East Midlands village

An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale hit the village of Cottesmore in Rutland in the East Midlands last night, the US Geological Survey said.

It is the second earthquake to hit the UK in two days after a quake with a 2.9 magnitude was recorded in Winchester on Tuesday.
