Jordanian military launches strikes against Islamic State

The Jordanian military has said it has conducted several air strikes against so-called Islamic State ammunition depots and training camps in Syria.

Jordanian army officials claim the missions are "only the beginning" of retribution against the militants for the recent murder of Jordanian air force pilot Lt. Muath al-Kasaesbeh.

Jordanians protest after IS video of pilot's murder

Activists have taken to the streets in Jordan to protest following the release of a video appearing to show the death of Islamic State captive Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasaesbeh.

The signs held by protesters read: "We demand the execution of Islamic State detainees in Jordan."

Jordan has vowed to deliver an "earth-shaking" response to the pilot's murder.
