Wife 'stabbed to death' before Derbyshire house fire

A woman found dead with her husband after an explosion at their home in Derbyshire was murdered, police said.

Police say Shelley Saxton-Cooper, 45, was wounded before the house was destroyed by an explosion.

Husband Simon Saxton-Cooper, 50, was also found dead by emergency services after the explosion. Police are not seeking any suspects.

Fire crews attending 'major incident' in Derbyshire

Emergency services are dealing with what is reportedly a gas explosion at a house in Derbyshire.

Police say they were called to Valley View Road, in Riddings just after 7.30am this morning to reports of a house fire.

A spokeswoman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue said fire crews have not yet been able to enter the building as it is "too dangerous at present".
