Four friends killed in crash while celebrating 16th birthday

Four young people have died after the unlicensed quad bike they were travelling on crashed into a sports car in West Yorkshire in the early hours of Sunday.

Ryan Beal, Brandon Brown, Alexandra Binns and Terrie Kirby, also known as Terrie Lynch, have all been named locally as the victims of the crash, which took place as one of them celebrated their 16th birthday.

Two men - who are believed to have been driving the car - have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Fourth person dies after car and quad bike collide

A fourth person has died after a collision between a sports car and a quad bike in West Yorkshire.

Two girls, aged 16 and 18, and a 20-year-old man on the quad bike died at the scene of the collision near Hemsworth.

A second 20-year-old man died later in hospital from his injuries.

Officers were called at about 12.30am to reports of a collision between a bronze Nissan 350Z sports car and a quad bike on the A6201 halfway between Upton and Hemsworth.

Two men, aged 21 and 22, from the Nissan, have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remain in police custody

Police said investigations into the collision are continuing and appealed for witnesses to contact them.
