One person was killed and at least 36 others injured after a driver ploughed into pedestrians in Las Vegas in what police say was an intentional act.

The crash happened near the hotel and casino where the Miss Universe pageant was being held.

Police named the suspect as 24-year-old Lakeisha Holloway and said she had her three-year-old daughter in the car when she drove at the crowd.

The woman killed when a car crashed into her on the Las Vegas strip was a 32-year-old mum-of-three.

Jessica Valenzuela died and at least 35 others were injured, including an 11-year-old boy, in Sunday's tragedy.

Miss Valenzuela's sister-in-law has since set up a Go Fund Me page to help the family pay for her funeral costs and transporting her body back to Arizona, which has raised nearly $30,000 (£20,253).

Police said 24-year-old Lakeisha Holloway has been charged with murder.
