MP Jo Cox and her family were out campaigning for voters to opt to stay in the EU yesterday as they travelled on a dinghy down the Thames as they took part in the 'battle of the Thames'.
Sharing an image of the family day out on Twitter, the day before she was shot in broad daylight, she wrote: "My hubby @MrBrendanCox & children taking part in the battle of the #Thames - because we're #StrongerIn #Remain."
Unconfirmed reports claim the attacker shouted 'Britain First' before Ms Cox was shot in the street.
Fundraising page set up by the MP's family hits the landmark total as thousands donate to good causes in her memory.
The MP had also recorded a video about Islamophobia in Yorkshire - described as a 'hotbed of far-right activity', according to The Times.
Emotional tributes have been paid to Jo Cox tonight as vigils were held around the UK in honour of the murdered MP.
