Roland-Jones makes England debut at Lord's

Toby Roland-Jones made his England debut on his home ground as Mark Wood and Liam Plunkett were added to the first-choice players rested in the third Royal London Series match against South Africa at Lord's.

Roland-Jones was among three players called in as cover on the eve of this final match, in which England are bidding for a 3-0 whitewash, and he and fellow Middlesex seamer Steven Finn came straight into the team.

Wood and Plunkett were rested along with the absences already announced as injury precautions for Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali.

Jonny Bairstow replaced Stokes at number five, and David Willey came in for his first match of the series, as England made four changes in all to the team which took an unassailable 2-0 lead at the Ageas Bowl on Saturday.

South Africa won the toss for the third successive time and, again as previously, chose to bowl first. Morne Morkel was selected for the first time to lead their attack, and JP Duminy and Wayne Parnell returned after being rested in Southampton.
