A traffic ban at the iconic Dark Hedges in Co Antrim comes into force on Monday.
The avenue of ancient beech trees, which has become famous as the ‘King’s Road’ in the HBO series Game of Thrones, attracts thousands of tourists from across the world every year.
Earlier this month, the Department of Infrastructure announced it was to introduce a ban on cars, buses and coaches travelling along part of the road from 30th October.
It follows a public consultation after conservationists raised concerns that traffic levels in the area were damaging tree roots.
Signs will be put up in the area in the coming days and visitors are being encouraged to adhere to the traffic restrictions.
Certain vehicles will be exempt from the ban, including agricultural and emergency vehicles.
