A 28-year-old man found unconscious in a taxi with 90 diazepam-type pills has been handed a four-month suspended prison sentence.
Stephen McCleland, of Knocknagoney Avenue in Belfast, was in the passenger seat of a cab stopped by police at Bradbury Place in August 2016.
After searches revealed quantities of the tablets, he was detained but later went missing.
Following his re-arrest, he appeared in court and pleaded guilty to possessing Class C drugs - which were confirmed to be a derivative of diazepam.
Imposing a four-month jail term, suspended for two years, the District Judge said: "I'm going to leave something hanging over him."
