A woman in her 50s has been tied up by burglars during a raid at her home in Carrickfergus.
Three men gained entry to the house in the Paisley Road area just before midnight on Saturday and bound her wrists with cable ties and handcuffs and tied to a bath in the bathroom.
A sum of cash and a number of pieces of jewellery were stolen.
The woman was able to eventually free herself and raised the alarm at 12.45am. She was not physically hurt but was left badly shaken.
A detective sergeant said: “The three males were all described as wearing dark clothing, with their faces covered and wearing gloves.
“We are appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area between 11.30pm last night and 12.30am this morning, or who has any information that could help our investigation, to get in touch with us on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 69 of 27/5/18.
“Alternatively information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
